27th ‘Inniskilling’ Regiment of Foot
Enlisted Soldiers Field Manual
Welcome to the 27th ‘Inniskilling’ Regiment of Foot, Soldier.
As a new recruit, you have been enlisted in the line infantry detachment. Before your first event you should read through this document that briefly explains basic formations, basic rules and basic behaviors expected of you during an event.
Event Procedures and Basic Requirements

Before joining any event, an announcement will be made in the steam group. Ideally, we want people on the TeamSpeak server at least 15 minutes prior to the event so we can get an accurate assessment of our numbers.
Once you are in TeamSpeak the commanding officer will give you the event details such as the server name and password, please do not constantly ask for the details, if you are unsure check the TeamSpeak channel name. When you have joined the relevant server please wait for the commanding officer to tell you which team and unit type to pick.
Upon spawning in you will be told where to form up so make sure you join the right line, you can tell if you are in the right line by looking for the yellow arrows on your mini-map or look at the players’ names above their heads. Officers may also add a white line or waypoint which can be seen in game to help you find the correct line.
During an event we expect a certain level of behavior from all our members:

• You must follow commands of the leading officer.
• You must use push to talk on TeamSpeak, if this is not possible then mute your mic. If you are unsure how to set this up, NCO’s or officers will be happy to assist.
• We allow chatter but do not speak over the officer, mic spam or play music / soundboards down your microphone, as other members will be unable to hear any orders given in game.
• You must not try to give commands unless an officer tells you that you are in charge, for example if all other higher ranks above you are dead.
• You must never kill or wound your team intentionally.
• Do not argue in text chat or flame, especially with other regiments.
• Make sure you stand still in line, if you need to look around use the tilde key.
• If you need to go afk then step out of line and crouch
Types of events

Please note - during all events you must play as line infantry only unless instructed otherwise by the command officer. Any Auxiliaries will be appointed by an officer at the beginning of each round, depending on numbers and feasibility.

Line Battle -
This is the most frequent type of event we attend. Each player has one life, during this type of event you must stay with your line and observe several rules:

Do not:
Fire in charge (FiC) - This means that when your line is engaged in melee or charging into combat out of formation you are no longer allowed to shoot, you can shoot again when the melee combat is over and you have returned to formation.

Fire out of line (FoL) - You must be in a line formation to fire, this means the line needs to be still, you have been given the order to fire and you must ensure that if the person in the line next to you dies you must move to your left / right to fill in the gap before firing.

Reload out of line (RoL). In the majority of Line Battle events, infantrymen are not allowed to reload their rifles outside of their line formation. There are exceptions, depending on the different game modes used in Holdfast, but during Line Battles, you should reload only when you are in line with the rest of the company. Exceptions may be made for any skirmisher lines such as Light Infantry.

Officer aim (OA) - This means that you cannot aim for the enemy officer on purpose, the enemy officer will be a different class from his entire unit and is often stood to the side of the line. Accidental officer aims (100m+) are often not punished, but anything closer will be considered intentional.

Rambo - This means that you cannot charge off by yourself, you must be part of a line, if your line dies find another to join before engaging in any form of combat.
Coastal Siege -
Costal siege events have a more relaxed ruleset and play style. It is advisable that you attempt to stay with your team, but that being said you are allowed to go off by yourself and shoot whenever you want. However, when defending once the attacking team has captured point B & C you are no longer allowed to leave the fort. The basic idea of siege is that the attackers must either kill the defenders enough times to deplete their respawn tickets or capture the fort by taking the point marked as A.
Siege –
Siege events have a similar ruleset to those of Coastal Siege events, however, because this type of event is more suited to the deployment of lines of infantry to assault an objective, there is usually a requirement that you have a certain number of players with you before you can leave your spawn point when on the attacking team. Again, the idea with Siege events is that the attackers must either kill the defenders enough times to deplete their respawn tickets, or capture the fort marked as point A in the game.
Conquest –
Conquest uses exactly the same ruleset as line battles, with the exception being that you have unlimited respawns (although a period of 5 minutes is in place before you can do so once you have died). Some unique rules are that you must be in a line of five or more people to be able to move out from spawn and must be led by an NCO or Officer. The basic idea of conquest is that the teams try to capture and hold as many objectives as possible, the more objectives held the faster the point meter rises, the team to reach the maximum number of points first wins.
